The following Renewable Energy Site Assessors can help you determine if your home or small business site is appropriate for the installation of a renewable energy system (Solar Electric, wind, or Solar Domestic Hot Water). Each listing includes information about the Assessor, including their contact information, technologies that they hold a certificate in, and service territory. Please check each assessor's certificates before you contact them.
Site Assessor Certificate holders have met educational and testing standards developed by the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA). They are not employees or subcontractors of the MREA, and we cannot be held responsible for their actions. Appearing on this list does not imply recommendation or endorsement by Focus on Energy.
Please note site assessors with a cert. date before 2012 are MREA Certified Site Assessors. Site assessors with cert. dates after December 2011 are MREA Site Assessor Certificate holders. (A few exceptions may apply. If you have questions about the difference between the two programs click here.)
Selecting an Assessor
The MREA recommends that you interview potential assessors. Questions that you may ask include:
• Which technologies have you earned a certificate in?
• Can you provide reference from previous customers?
• When would you be able to schedule a site visit?
• How long will it take to get a written report of the assessment?
• How much will the assessment cost?
